This course explores the impact of parental pressure on student behaviour and teaching staff. It also explores a range of strategies that can be used to mitigate this impact both on individuals and more generally within the classroom and school.
The course includes four informative modules and two tutor-marked assignments to check your understanding. All tutors are experienced educators who have experience of working with parents in educational settings.
Study topics include: understanding motivations for parental pressure; handling meetings with difficult parents; impacts of parental pressure on children and young people; impacts in the classroom and on teaching staff; effective communication with parents; managing expectations; promoting self-confidence and self-esteem in pupils; managing under-performance; solution focused approaches; whole school issues. Includes all study materials, course textbook, Helping Young People to Beat Stress, and full tutorial support. Students have up to twelve months to complete this course, allowing them to work through the modules at their own pace.
