It also considers the importance of a multi-agency approach and looks at how such an approach can be implemented effectively. It is ideal for teachers, lecturers and support staff who would like to develop their professional skills in identifying and supporting vulnerable children and their families.
The course includes four informative modules and two tutor-marked assignments to check your understanding. All tutors are experienced educators with specific training in this area.
Study topics include: identifying vulnerability; contributing factors - neglect, emotional vulnerability, attachment disorders, difficult family situations; abuse; physical and emotional challenges; practical strategies for supporting children and their families; working within a multi-agency approach. Includes all study materials, course textbook, Working with Children, Adolescents and Their Families, and full tutorial support. Students have up to twelve months to complete this course, allowing them to work through the modules at their own pace.
