Introducing pupils to coaching strategies and techniques has been shown to improve their immediate performance as well as long term outcomes. Coaching strategies are enabling and empowering, giving pupils practical skills that they can transfer to many different situations and take with them into the future. This course provides a comprehensive introduction to core coaching approaches and shows how they can be applied in an educational setting. The course includes four informative modules and two tutor-marked assignments to check your understanding. All tutors are experienced coaches who have training and experience in working with young people.
Study topics include: a step-by-step approach to coaching; structuring a coaching conversation; exploring coaching theory and its practical application; lessons from NLP; goal-setting in the classroom; developing relationship skills; barriers to effective coaching and how to overcome them. Includes all study materials, course textbook, The Coaching Manual, and full tutorial support.
Students have up to twelve months to complete this course, allowing them to work through the modules at their own pace. On successful completion of the course students are awarded a certificate of course completion.
