This course provides a comprehensive and positive guide to assertiveness, showing students how to behave more assertively when dealing with students, parents and colleagues. Assertive behaviour allows us achieve our goals, build stronger relationships in the workplace, and communicate more effectively in a whole range of situations. This course is suitable for teachers, FE lecturers and support staff who would like to develop a more assertive relating style in their professional life.

The course includes four informative modules and two tutor-marked assignments to check your understanding. All tutors are experienced coaches who have training and experience in assertiveness training.

Study topics include: identifying your relating style; principles of effective communication; workplace relationships; practicing assertiveness; dealing with anger; how to say 'no' and mean it; increasing confidence; assertive body language; dealing assertively with parents and pupils. Includes all study materials, course textbook, The Assertiveness Workbook, and full tutorial support.

Students have up to twelve months to complete this course, allowing them to work through the modules at their own pace. Students are awarded a certificate of course completion on successful completion of their course.

You can spread the cost of your course using our instalment plan. Pay only the deposit when you enrol and spread the rest of your course fee over 6 monthly payments. There is a Ł20 administration fee if you choose this option.
