It explores a wide range of counselling approaches that may be helpful in an educational setting with a focus on practical strategies and techniques. The course includes four informative modules and two tutor-marked assignments to check your understanding. All tutors are qualified counsellors and have experience in educational settings too. Study topics include: Rogerian theory and its application in educational settings; Transactional Analysis theory and techniques; understanding communication in school; advanced CBT techniques; Gestalt theory and practical approaches; creative approaches - art therapy, creative writing therapy, poetry, journal therapy, working with puppets; approaches from play therapy. Includes all study materials, course textbook, Counselling Skills and Theory, and full tutorial support.
